Computer Society of India (CSI)

The seed for the Computer Society of India (CSI) was first shown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange of ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector. Today the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT. The organisation has grown to an enviable size of 100,000 strong members consisting of professionals with varied backgrounds including Software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIO's , CTO's & IT vendors to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently having more than 500 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations, CSI has plans of opening many more chapters & activity centers in smaller towns and cities of the country. The idea is to spread the knowledge, and provide opportunities to as many interested as possible.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

IEEE is a non profit professional association with more than 3,67,000 members including 73,000 students in over 150 countries. The global organization helps and supports development and application of technology and science around the world for the benefit of the humanity, the individual and the professional IEEE serves as a major publisher of scientific journals and as a conference organizer. It is also a leading developer of industrial standards in broad range of disciplines including electric power, and energy, biomedical technology and health care, information technology, information assurance, telecommunications and nano technology. IEEE develops and participates in educational activities such as accreditation of electrical engineering programmes in institutions of higher learning.

A unit of IEEE functions in our college and our members take active part in its programmes. HUB level and National level programmes are organized in the college. WIE (Wowen in Engineering), an affinity group of IEEE is also very active in the campes.
IEEE SB College of Engineering, Perumon happily informs you that, we, the Execom members designed a CONTACTLESS THERMOMETER using IR sensor. Presently, it is used in the College Campus. We are thankful to our Branch Councillors for their support in the making of this device. This device was inaugurated by our Principal, Dr. Z A Zoya .Click For Details..

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making society for the Technical Education System. ISTE chapter college of Engineering Perumon is an active chapter under ISTE Kerala Section and regularly conducts different types of programmes with the motto of Career and Personality Development of Teachers and Students.

Society of Automotive Engineers India

SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. NPTEL LOCAL CHAPTER-SWAYAM

NPTEL local chapter was established in College of engineering Perumon on January 2018. NPTEL local chapter,CEP has been recognized as an an ACTIVE local chapter. click here for website

NPTEL is an acronym for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for creating course contents in engineering and science. NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams.

SWAYAM (Study Web of Active Learning by Young and Aspiring Minds) is the National MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) portal being developed by MHRD, Govt. of India. NPTEL is the official SWAYAM national coordinator for engineering. All NPTEL online certification courses are SWAYAM courses too and they are available on the SWAYAM platform as well. NOC stands for NPTEL Online Certification. NPTEL has started offering online certification courses through its portal click here.

There are 10 hours, 20 hours as well as 40 hours courses offered twice a year.

Joining/enrolling for an NPTEL online course is free
The videos and associated study material may also be downloaded for free.
Learning from the course, submitting assignments, participating in the discussion forum is free.
To write the final exam, you need to pay a nominal fee.

Expected Outcome

Participants receiving quality instruction and education in select topics and skills can improve their employability and widen their knowledge base, get introduced to new domains.

Inculcate mode of self-learning.
