The Industry Institute Interaction Cell is functioning effectively at College of Engineering Perumon through which considerable progress has been made and the academic departments have been carrying out various activities envisaged under the IIIC independently and with support from the III Cell, as deemed necessary. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) is functioning in the college with the intention of nurturing entrepreneurship skills of the students under IIIC. The cell provides a platform for the students to pursue entrepreneurial activities and also provide assistance to potential entrepreneurs. With the prime goal of developing responsible innovators out of engineers, the EDC strives to assist every aspiring entrepreneur on every single step. With active involvement of students the cell promotes and revitalizes the entrepreneurial culture in the college.

The Second Edition of the Innovators' Premier League was launched on 27 October 2022 by Startup Mission and IEDC Kerala. Innovators' Premier League is a league competition wherein IEDC centers across the state will compete with each other under various tracks - innovation, technology & entrepreneurship, and other criteria during the given period to claim the State Championship as well as other categories of awards.
IPL is aimed to bring awareness and sensitization of IEDC & its activities among students, build a competitive & entrepreneurial mindset among innovators, and create a pipeline of startups which will culminate in the IEDC Summit.
Under IPL 2.0, IEDC CEP organized "Operation Java" , a bootcamp of 3 three days which was attended by 70 participants. "IDEA That Own" was a State wide Ideathon organized which was attended by 40 participants. "Gift A Hack" was the Hackathon of IEDC CEP attended by 45 participants.
A Memorandum of Understanding is executed between Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) and College of Engineering Perumon on 21.2021 as part of the One District One Idea – MSME Innovation Clusters programme (ODOI). The objective of the MoU is to have professional support from College of Engineering Perumon for developing innovation action plans for the marketing and technological advancement of two MSME clusters namely Palaruvi Farmers Producer company located at Pathanapuram, Kollam and Wood Empire consortium at Chadayamangalam, Kollam.
K-DISC through its district arms the District Innovation Councils (DICs) have initiated the One District One Idea – MSME Innovation Clusters programme (ODOI). In Districts Core Groups consisting of General Manager Industries, District Mission Cordinators/Assistant Mission Cordinators in charge of Micro Enterprise Development and Startup Village Extension Programme, faculty members from the Commerce and Economics Departments in Arts and Science colleges, Mentors of K-DISC identified by Kerala Start Up Mission(KSUM), experts from Center for Management Development and MSME Development Institute, empaneled energy auditors from Energy Management Centre and Program Executives of K-DISC.
As a part of this programme clusters have been short listed and the District Core Group has started collecting preliminary details of the cluster group. Based on the attitudes and capabilities of the clusters a few clusters are short listed. Two of them are Palaruvi Farmers Producer company located at Pathanapuram, Kollam and Wood Empire consortium at Chadayamangalam, Kollam. These two clusters are to allotted to College of Engineering Perumon for action plan development and for development as innovation clusters.

Under this scheme two faculties (Sri Surjith S. AP in ECE and Sri Syamkumar G. AP in ME) have attended course on entrepreneurship at CUSAT, Cochin. The selected faculties will be undergoing subsequent trainings in the coming years on different courses on Entrepreneurship. They will also be running courses with students in the institute and supporting them in E- cell activities.
AICTE is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for Technical Institutes (PMKVY-TI). Our college has been selected among 242 colleges in India to offer skill training to the students. Under this scheme two programmes in EEE dept. and one programme in ECE dept. were sanctioned for the students.
